Loft Windows and Dormer Windows

“Add a beautiful touch to the home whilst allowing sunlight to pour into your home. “

A loft window is exactly what it says it is, it’s a window that is integrated with a pitched roof allowing natural light to enter your loft space. Loft windows can be integrated in a number of different configurations and volumes depending on the roof size, pitch and structure.

Let natural light into every room with one of our loft windows. Simply to install, easy installation and fully customisable from the frame design and size through to the material, opening type and ventilation.

Why choose a loft window?

Often converted lofts will have a pitched roof which will limit the amount of light that can be distributed through a room by artificial lighting. A loft window will allow light to enter from a single point or multiple points (depending on how many loft windows are integrated into the roof).

An additional benefit of choosing a loft window is the ability to open it to allow fresh air to circulate along with natural light.

Let the light in

The amount of natural light that can enter is depending on which way the property is facing. Generally, east and south facing windows will allow more light in throughout the day whilst north facing will generally be away from sunlight and may require larger frames to allow more natural light in. The rules in general are:

  • North Facing: North facing windows will not receive as much sunlight, it would be advised to have larger or multiple windows for more light.
  • East Facing: for those who like early morning sunshine, east facing windows get the most sun up until around noon.
  • South Facing: South facing windows generally receive an even amount of lighting throughout the day and are a preferred choice.
  • West Facing: This will provide sunlight in the late afternoon and early evening.
